Tamika Simpson
Ovia HealthTamika is educated in both Public Health and Mental Health. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science with a concentration in Community Health Education and Promotion from California State University, San Bernardino and her Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from Des Moines University. She is currently a clinical psychology doctoral student, completing her dissertation at California Southern University. She is trained and certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) specializing in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), birth trauma, and emotional issues of fertility. She is also a trained and board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC).
Tamika has experience working with both couples and individuals and takes on a strength-based approach with all of her clients. As a bi-racial Black woman, Tamika understands the importance of BIPOC clients being able to access quality mental health care and this is what drew her to Ovia Health. She has supported clients with specific interest in working on issues of diversity and ethnicity identity. Tamika has enjoyed working with LGBTQIA+ families and individuals and is a strong ally to the community. Tamika is passionate about supporting those suffering from anxiety, depression, and trauma to heal and find resiliency through their own strengths.
