Marshela McDaniel is currently the Field People Officer for McDonald’s Corporation for the Columbus Field Office. In her role she co-develops and executes a vision for attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent within her Field organization where she partners with more than 1,220 restaurants, 152 owner operator franchise organizations, and 100+ corporate staff. As the Field People Officer, she provides strategic direction and guidance around people initiatives and consults to Owner Operators to directly impact business results, align with people Initiatives, and collaborate with cross functional teams to strengthen the McDonald’s system.
Marshela joined McDonald’s Corporation in 2005 where she began her career as an Operations Consultant for the company owned restaurants. Throughout her tenure with the Corporation, she has also held a variety of roles including Business Consultant to the Franchisees, Operations Manager for the Company-owned restaurants, Field Service Manager to the Franchisees, HR Business Partner and Manager and now in her current role as Field People Officer.
Marshela is an active member within McDonald’s Corporation serving and leading on a variety of teams and continues to establish herself as a resource to others. She demonstrates a high level of leadership as she mentors’ and serves in her role as the lead the East Zone lead for the McDonald’s African American Council. Throughout her career she has also been recognized with awards including most recently the Global Women’s Leadership Network Women on the Rise Award, the Outstanding Operations Contributor Award, the Central Division Officer Award and the Central Division Operations Manager Award. Furthermore, she spends time as a member of the Board of Directors for both Lutheran Social Services, a nonprofit organization, as well as Columbus Yong Professionals Impact and Inclusion Board. Additionally, she volunteers with various organizations throughout the city of Columbus.
Marshela, who is originally from Kansas City, Missouri, is a former Division 1 Women’s Basketball athlete and graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and also has a Master’s Degree in Business Management. Away from work, she and her husband, Aaron, are parents to their twelve-year-old son and four-year-old daughter. She enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as contributing to her community.
